So we decided to visit Copenhagen for a weekend of parkrun and a half marathon. On Saturday the 12th of September they ran at Amager Faelled parkrun in Copenhagen where they were warmly welcomed by Anne Petersen and her volunteer team. After the run many local runners were very keen to speak to the runners with a number of possible return visits promised. The following day, five of the travellers participated in the Copenhagen Half Marathon, together with about 22,000 others. A great weekend which also saw the celebration of Annette Sissons birthday, her 50th parkrun and Dan Evans’ 100th parkrun.

We have competed in the summer league series for 3 years now and last year we had some reasonably good turn outs and very nearly didn’t come last. These a good fun set of  five runs (5mile or 10Km) across London which are cheap to enter and blessed with cake and other comestibles. We have entered as a club again this year, and each club member turning up to run only pays £1 on the day. Dates for 2015 are I believe as below:

Following another well attended & successful Beginners Course, the Beginners completed the Black Park Run 5k. Thank you to everyone who attended and well done. Thank you also to the club members for running the course and to Anne who was unable to run but came along to support.

The next course starts on 3/1/2015 at 9:15 am, Stockely Park. (We meet in the car park at Colham Roundabout UB8 3LL). All welcome.

Back in June of this year I had no desire to run, not even for a bus. As a keen photographer I thought it would be a good idea to go and watch the Color Run at Wembley Park. It was indeed a good idea, as I got some really good photos there...

Two events down Dulwich, and Harrow, with next at Perivale 6th July.

We got an unprecedented turnout for the Headstone Park Harrow event on 15th June. Congratulations to Denise on her first 10km.

Next summer league event is this sunday 15th June and is a 10km run starting 9.30 in Headstone Park, North Harrow. This is not far so hopefully we get a few to represent Hayes and Harlington. Details available at the club Wednesday and from the summer league website.

No brainer really. £1 on the day gets members a 10k run and cake.

The present series of Beginners sessions continues through June finishing with the Black Park parkrun on 28th. A previous post indicating there would be no session at Stockley Park on 7th June  was incorrect. The 7th June session will take place.

We had a great turnout this morning at our first session. There were about 20 people most of whom have never run before and they all did really well. Thank you to everyone who came, hope you all enjoyed it & will come next week. If you were thinking of coming along this week and missed it, come and join us next week.
