Cross - Country 3rd October 2007 - Hillingdon (Ruislip Lido) It was a lovely day for a run, the course started off in a field with large tufts of grass, before heading off into the trees around Ruislip Lido. I can't remember any flat bits of the course, you kept going either up hill or down, with some sharp bends at the bottom of the hills, the course was well marshalled and there were lots of spectators. Our 17 and under team did very well ( Gary Nisbet ) finishing well up the field, finishing as usual by overtaking a couple of runners with his long legs charging across the grass. ( 4K course ) The men's team consisted of Ian Smith, Tony Kent and Jack Nisbet - we covered an 8k Course, two laps of the big loop in the trees, there were a lot of runners in the field, approximately 300 - the positions were good, one in the mid 100's and two in the mid 200's with Ian just pipping Tony by two places The Ladies team could not make the race however as they were saving themselves for the Cabbage Patch 10 the next day. After the race, some of the runners went for a walk around the Lido, commenting that next year it may be a good idea to organise a meal / drink in the local lido restaurant to finish off an enjoyable race
